Cycle for survival

My Uncle Barry never saw the glass as just half full – he saw it as overflowing with hope and possibilities. His enthusiasm for life was infectious and his laugh was contagious.

When he was diagnosed in October 2011 with multiple myeloma, he still held that same optimism. Despite the prognosis, he was determined not to let cancer change his life. At every obstacle, he saw a way around it. He fought with everything he had and always held on to hope. On April 20th, 2012, the cancer proved too strong for even my uncle and he lost his brave fight.

Cycle for Survival is an indoor team cycling event that raises funds for rare cancer research with 100% of the funds going directly to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. My cousin started a team in his memory, and every year, our friends and family participate. His favorite word was primo, so what better name for our team?

I created the logo used on team shirts, posters, and fundraising pages.
