Moms demand action in nassau county

It was shortly after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting that I attended my first local chapter meeting for Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. I was spurred to join by the desire to do something that would help protect my young son, and thought I would be able to offer my design services.

The next thing I knew, I was knocking on doors for state senate candidates to flip the New York Senate. A few months after the election, I took over the role of Local Legislative Lead. But it wasn’t until the 2020 election that I realized how much I love activism and politics. I spent every moment I could planning and organizing events for the elected officials we had helped win in 2018. And I did this all during a global pandemic, which had me working from home full time, with two boys under the age of 4 bouncing around the house.
